 AS humans, men are just as prone to being repulsed by certain tendencies in women which induce a complete turn off. Some of these things are quite common and we live with them everyday such that many ladies tend to overlook them as quite unnecessary. So, ladies, what are those things that can turn your man off?

•A dirty and careless personality:Nothing turns a man off in a woman more than a flabby looking ape- like fellow, walking about the house without etiquette. Many ladies now throw caution into the winds the moment they settle in marriage or are in a committed relationship. They care less about their looks and comportment, they suddenly transit from that beautiful babe to a grandma. I chuckle when I see some old classmates and/or childhood acquaintances who, today, look like my big mummy. A lady must remain takeable 24/7.

She must pay adequate attention to herself inside out. This ranges from basic things like wearing clean undies, wearing well-manicured nails and a well-made hairstyle. A lady must never have mouth or body odour, she must never be caught with a bushy armpit as well. It is when you appear spik and span that you will earn the confidence of your man and command his respect and attention such that no matter how long he stays outside or hang out with friends, he is happy to come back home to meet a lovely, sexy and very neat partner.

•Female Chauvinism: A man and a woman are made in the image of God as the Bible puts it and it is quite obvious that a man needs a woman to complement him and vice versa. In spite of this, there are certain people, in each sex, that end up becoming chauvinistic. A feministic attitude or a bossy nature in a woman is what men find extremely irritating and it is a big turn off. Many feminists would like men to conform to certain unnatural standards that are completely contrary to manly nature or the man’s culture. A woman who depicts such an attitude would soon find her man running away from her and straight into the waiting arms of another woman.

•A lazy home maker: Men have been brought up to look at their women as home makers. There is nothing chauvinistic about this; it has been the natural order of things for a long time and it is deeply embedded in male conditioning. So, men love women who are good home makers and are turned off by a woman who expects the man to cook and clean. This may sound harsh to the feminists but this is what men feel inherently. Men are naturally quite bad at home management and therefore rely solely on their women to play this part in their lives.

•Too career-oriented: There are many marriages and enduring relationships that have gone sour because of the corporate culture of the new millennium. It is quite common for the husband and wife to be employed in most households but when this happens, it is the duty of the woman to strike a balance to ensure that none of these important departments suffer. Men love strong willed and hardworking women. In fact, the man is greatly enthused about his woman’s success and becomes extremely proud of her when she becomes a force to reckon with in her chosen career.

Yet, this man expects this same woman to make a huge success of her home. The Bible makes it clear that a wise woman builds her home but many career women nowadays allow their official works to affect their homes and this gives rise to many ego clashes and misunderstandings, especially when the man finds his wife becoming too “career centric” to care for her family. Traditionally, men love the feminine characteristics of a woman and being a home maker is one of them. An overly career centric wife is usually a turn off for the man.
