The President spoke at the graduation ceremony for senior course 33 of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College(AFCSC), Jaji near Kaduna, saying this was not the time to be sentimental but to see the reality.
The Commandant of AFCSC, Air Vice Marshal Ahmed Tijjani Muazu, said in his welcome address, that the course was designed to equip the officers with the appropriate skills to function as grade staff officers and to prepare the graduands for higher responsibility, including the ranks of Colonels and its equivalent in the other services.
The President, who was represented by Vice President Mohammad Namadi Sambo, called on the armed forces and other civil security agencies to work hand-in-hand especially in the area of information gathering because no security agency can excel without the co-operation of others.
He said the high number of international students in the college had enhanced the idea of African brotherliness, integration and regional co-operation which were necessary for the common security in Africa.
“Africa’s problem can only be solved by Africans. Nigeria remains committed to international peace and security and will continue to work in close collaboration with other African governments to promote stability and development in the continent,” he stated.Share
