Nigerian Artistes Set For All Stars Performance

The stage is set for the A-list musical  acts, actors and actresses to perform at the All Stars Performance shows today at the Nigeria Sports and Entertainment Village, The Enabling Centre, Barking, London as part of the activities programmed for the ongoing London 2012 Olympics.

altThe event put together by Heartlinks Events and endorsed by the Federal Ministry of Tourism, Culture and National Orientation will see notable faces in the enetertainment industry performing live. They include Funke Akindele of the Jenifa fame; ace comedian, Gbenga Adeyinka, Seun Anikulapo Kuti, Tee Mac, Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, Bimbo Akintola, Funsho Adeolu, Adeolu Adekola and many more.

Kemi Otegbade, Head Consultant, Heratlink Events, told Saturday Tribune that as part of the programmes for the two-day event, which commenced yesterday, are awards to notable and eminent Nigerians, cultural displays, movie screening (Evergreen), celebration of Lagos at 45, Jazz Concert, and Nisev Leadership Award and Gala Nite.

According to the project cordinator, the idea behind the project is to give Nigerians and other nationals in London for the games a taste of the Nigerian flavour and to promote the social aspect of the country,

She, however, disclosed that those to be awarded for leadership in governance include Governors Babatunde Raji Fashola, Goodwill Akpabio, Rochas Okorocha, and Muazu Babangida Aliyu.

Others are former governor of Lagos State, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu; Dr Buba Marwa; Mrs Obinna Imoke, First Lady,Cross Rivers State; Chioma Ajunwa, among others.

Otegbade, however, assured that the event would be hitch-free as all necessary arrangements have been concluded to make it a suucessful one and an event to remember for a long time to come.

There will be a beauty pegeant where participants will be shorlisted, while the winner will get return flight tickets to Nigeria worth 2.5million naira. Also, an after party will be organised for her.
