show was declared the Most Outstanding TV Talk Show.
TBFS debuted on May 4, 2010 as an engaging talk show with a difference, and immediately got pundits and critics talking. The producers say TBFS was designed to provide fun and entertainment to TV viewers across the country and beyond .
The host, Teju Oyelakin, better known as Teju BabyFace, brings a fresh new twist to a genre popularised by comic idols, David Letterman, Ellen Degenres and Johnny Carson, as he gets up-close and rib- crackingly personal with celebrity guest in battle of wits.
TBFS in its first season has featured celebrities like Ali Baba, Gbenga Adeyinka, BasketMouth, Asa, Tee A, KSA, Okey Bakassi and Denrele. Others included Holy Mallam, Owen Gee, Koffi, Dele Momodu, Mrs. Abimbola Fashola as well as Richard Mofe- Damijo.
The show was picked for the blend of good pictures and clear sound, commercial arts and musical works audio/visual. Organisers say the aim of the award is to recognise the finest of Africans at home and in the Diaspora, who have excelled in film, music videos, television productions and advertising commercials.
Teju BabyFace dedicated the award to his fans. According to him, “the show will not only feature up and coming artistes, it will also deal with political, medical, scientific, astronomy and religious issues. It also has a segment called the “sweetest moments of life” where people will send pictures or short videos of things that they have seen or experienced,” he said.
He pointed out that he was not leaving any stone unturned as the show currently has a fan page on the Facebook and excerpts of the show can be watched on YouTube.
TBFS currently runs on Silverbird Television, AIT, Galaxy and Television Continental.
On his plans for the next season, the comedian says he intends to feature Ibrahim Babangida, Dance performer, Alfa Sule and magicians.
