What Do You Think Is Wrong With Me?

Share

Dear Yemisi,
I am 25 years old and still a virgin. I am a 400-level undergraduate without a man. Though I have been approached by many, but I don’t love any of them.

What do you think is wrong with me? Is it a natural thing because I have not dated any man till date?

Please, I need your advice because it is affecting my academics. Will the remaining year be okay for good courtship because I wish to settle down as soon as I am through with my studies?

Bola.

Dear Bola,
What you meant by the remaining one year appears vague. Are you referring to your stay on the campus or what?

Your predicament might have stemmed from the fact that you are a bookworm, who would see any man as a distraction to your studies. I want to believe you belong to the brilliant group.

But I will counsel that if you have, hitherto, shunned men, you need to relax your anti-men posture.

Though a year is a long time, but you cannot love a man without being each other’s friends – knowing each other’s weaknesses and strong points. This attitude of yours might be borne out of pride. You have to soft-pedal on any imaginary standard/qualities you might have set for the man of your choice.

After you might have soft-pedalled, then learn to associate with men so as to know how to relate with them.

But for God’s sake, don’t allow this to affect your studies. You might not know if this arrangement  is God’s design to allow you learn one or two things. There is nothing that happens to a man without a reason and for everything, there is a season. You are mature enough to handle any issue with the opposite sex.

Bola, please, watch and pray and do not leave anything to chance.

Best of luck.
