I’m fit for Kenya - Mikel Obi

Super Eagles technical crew headed by Shuaibu Amodu called up Mikel Obi for the decisive 2010 World Cup qualifier against Kenya inspite of the players's fitness level.

While critism has greeted the inclusion of the Chelsea star in the list of players that will battle Harambee Stars of Kenya in next weekend's match in Nairobi, team's coordinator, Emmanuel Attah has given explanation on why the midfielder was invited.

According to him, Mikel himself has declared that he will be fit enough to play the encounter with hope that he would even be in the line up of the Blues in this weekend's thriller against Manchester United.

"Mikel trained with the rest of the Super Eagles during the last match against Mozambique in Abuj and he has been training with his club in England and he has given us his words that he would be fit before the match against Kenya," said Attah.
