Pa Soludo: Kidnappers now demand N300m

By Jackson Udom - 01.11.2009

Gunmen who kidnapped the father of the former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Pa. Simeon Soludo for a ransome of N500 million are now demanding for N300 million.

A source close to the family of the now controversial governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Anambra 2010 election, Professor Chukwuma Soludo disclosed this to Sunday Tribune in telephone interview.

According to him, “as at Friday, the kidnappers have reduced their demands to N300 million before our father would be released.”

On whether the family members were ready to part with the sum, he simply said, “where do you expect us to get that kind of money from? Do you want us to be working only for us to give it to kidnappers?

He stated on that, “we only expect the Federal Government and other security agencies to do their job.”
