A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Thursday, admitted as evidence 200 pieces of improvised explosives allegedly found on the six Boko Haram suspects linked to Suleja bombings in Niger State.
The court, however, refused to take custody of the explosives and bundles of wires, but ordered the State Security Service (SSS) to take them away for safe keeping.
The explosives were allegedly retrieved from the suspects in July 2011 in Kaduna State.
A SSS radioactive expert, Michael Adebayo, who testified before the court, said that the explosives could easily be triggered by constant contacts and as such, could not bring them out in the open court for further analysis.
It is recalled two other prosecution witnesses confirmed that they indeed recovered the items after three of the suspects were arrested in Kaduna State.
They added that other items recovered included four handsets and a black Honda car.
The court later adjourned the matter till January 9 for further hearing.
