Decision is the choice you make after thinking. I am not getting any younger and I think I am old enough to take some decisions on my own. I decide on so many things and I try as much as possible to stand by them. For example, when I clocked 13 years, I made a decision never to gossip about others because I could gossip a lot. I just thought of it that instead of gossiping, why can’t I use my precious time for more important things? And till date, God has been helping me.

When I make decisions, I try to stand by them because I want to be responsible. There was a time I decided that I want to be like a friend of mine who is always cautious of what he does whenever I am with him. Since then ,God has been helping me. Also, I made a decision to always pay my tithes regularly and God has been helping me to do this.

Though I seek advice from people, but I still make decisions on my own and when I make such decisions, I stand by them. I could remember vividly the day I made up my mind never to lie again, though it wasn’t easy because it sometimes serve as a form of defence to escape punishment or being flogged. Since I made this decision, God has been helping me.

As a young boy, decision making has been one of the major challenges for me. Personally, I am not very decisive, but I try to heed the advice of wise people around me. Sometimes, whenever I am given an advice, I don’t just jump into it, I try to examine or weigh it from my own perspective. For instance, I have never for once had interest in studying sciences, but after several counsel and advice from older people, I chose to be a science student. Now, I can boldly say that I am one of the best science students in my school.

I am a very decisive person and I like to always stick to my decisions. But sometimes, when I realise that my decisions are not good enough, I try to change them. Decision making is one of the criteria and important factor for being a successful student. For example, in the past, I used to dread of my teachers, but after a proper orientation from my parents who advised me to always see my teachers as good people who care and want the best for me, I decided to change for better and I relate well with them now.

As a young child, decision making is one of the challenges that I have faced so far. Whenever I take decision, it is sometimes difficult to follow it through. For instance, I made a decision never to visit my friends’ house until when I’m through with whatever I am asked to do, but amazingly on the second day, I changed my mind. Now that we are still under the guidance of our parents, we may be finding it difficult to take decisions on our own. Nevertheless, we should have the boldness and audacity to take decisions on our own.
