CIBN gears up for 2012 bankers night

Bankers in Lagos State, under the auspices of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), Lagos branch, have concluded plans to facilitate a successful outing at their upcoming bankers’ night.

This year’s edition of the annual event is scheduled to hold on July 18 at the External Ballroom of the Federal Palace Hotel and it will have in attendance, the governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, as the special guest of honour

The event is the banker’s way of taking time out of their busy schedules to interact in festive atmosphere and deliberate on issues that will move the industry forward

According to the Lagos CIBN Chairman, Mr Bayo Olugbemi, at a briefing in Lagos, said the event with the theme: Developing an Appropriate Framework for Energy Infrastructure Financing in Nigeria,  “provides a unique opportunity for the exchange of ideas on contemporary economic, banking and other financial issues. It is also an avenue for bankers to interact with one another and network with the Nigerian Business Community,” Olugbemi said.

Olugbemi stated that the event was in line with the association’s objective of promoting banking education in Nigeria and ensuring the observation of professional ethics and tradition in the banking industry.

The bankers’ night, will be chaired by Elder Felix Ohiwerei, and Chairman of Fidson Healthcare Plc and Oba Rilwan Aremu Akiolu 1, the Oba of Lagos will be the royal father of the day.
