Opulence of 805 Restaurant, Abuja

altON the Aminu Kano Crescent, West End Wuse, 11 Abuja, lies House 93.  A white one-storey structure which no functional eyes can miss.

The architectural configuration is an eye-popping Elizabethan style suitable for the Lords of Manor or the Royals who must enjoy the monarchical appurtenances and dignity of the blue blood.

Written boldly on the wall pf the white House with in black ink is 805.

Guess what? It is not a guest House of the kings, neither is it a resident of an emperor; the house you are admiring is the popular 805 Restaurant.

Those who travel frequently to England and eat good food will attest to the culinary expertise of 805 Restaurant, located on Old Kent Road. It earns 4.5 rating in Britain and has been replicated in Abuja, Nigeria. While the one in London is located in Shop 805 – 807, the one in Nigeria is accorded a homely status.

Strolling into House 93, Abuja, on the right as you enter the premises is the open bar for those who love to relax outside.

Getting into the House, your eyes will catch  “Finesse” pasted on the wall pointing to the right, assuring you of the fact that you are going to have a date with the best of foods prepared under the most hygienic  condition in accordance with its motto: “Food for better living.”

As you walk towards the Finesses, you notice the marble floor, the pop and the chandeliers fixed gingerly on the ceiling. Your mind prays for the person who believes that food should be eaten in a posh, luxuriously edified, classy and splendid environment.

The Finesses is a two-pronged eating lounge, the left harbors a bar and seats 42, while the right lounge conveniently takes 62.

The ambience, the fixtures and fittings, the chairs and the mode of service which harps on courtesy, promptnes, efficiency, are pleasing as well as warmly.

Here, foods are prepared on order, fresh, hot and spicy, without wasting your time and without you going to borrow from your bank or rushing to the nearest cash point centre.

While the ground floor is about finesse and good food, the upper floor tagged “Decorum” tells a lot of the expectation here.

The Decorum harbours conference rooms where intellectual and mental enhancing project could be undertaken without any distraction.

Enhancing this concept are conference rooms  equipped with two wall airconditioner boxes, two standing air conditioner trunks, 120 seats and long tables, two large mirror pined unto the wall.

Complimenting this is the multi – media projector and sound equipments which are already in place for clients who want the best.

Speaking with Tribune Tourism Magazine in Abuja, Mrs James said ‘Restaurants operation is no longer the job for the jobless who see food vending as a last resort. People are no longer careless with what they eat. They now watch what they eat and where they eat, I mean the environment. Hence we do not joke with the environment where we are practising our trade. You will notice that our foods are prepared under the most certified hygienic conditions with specific detail to freshness and neatness. This we cannot compromised. We prepare your food on order but the few minutes will justify the means by the time you are eating. It will be fresh.”

She revealed that “We are propelled to establish in Nigeria by the special demands of our numerous customers and to tell you, one of them is a staff of your organisation who visited the UK and so much enjoyed our foods. And what is the essence of one’s relevance abroad if one cannot serve his own people at home?”

Mrs James said “805 Restaurant is not in competition with any outlet or fast food company. 805 has its unique tradition of vending foods, which is totally different from others. This is purely traditional concept as it enhanced food for better living. And that is what 805 stands for either in Nigeria or in the UK. From either, you get the best.”
