You don’t need a rocket scientist to know what is wrong with the Nigerian nation and what need to be done to fix it. While we all identify these several problems since 1960, what we all lack is the implementation of the solution.

Simple: Horrific deterrent to perpetrators, proteges and proceeds. We don’t need EFCC, ICPC, police and the army, for they are all part and parcel of what we need to clean. Ordinary Nigerians should start getting their own guns. We should have a jungle justice, which will lead to civil justice after some time. This may sound shocking and, perhaps, unfathomable solution from what you call intellectual thinking, but I assure you that the Nigerian national management is not really different from a jungle justice management system.

Just close your eyes for a minute and you can picture it. If the set of people parading themselves as leaders today are not ashame of the fact that many ordinary citizens on the way to their palacial homes are poor beyond belief and unable to feed in a country of plenty. The best solution is that they should contact the blacksmith among them to start with the production of local guns for each of them. You must remember the problem of Nigeria starts from the guns. The solution can quickly come from it. Dialogue and discussion to solve it will make Nigeria to remain in the same place in the next 50 years. –Goke Elujoba

Re: Awolowo Stadium at last
The good thing President Goodluck Jonathan did for Papa AWO will certainly go into indelible history as Mr president is not an hypocrite like other self-serving politicians. This should be a lesson as Nkumaism never die, so also Awoism will never die. Some politicians are deceitful by using Papa Awo’s cap wrongly, as they have no atom of the late sage behaviour. Thank you President Goodluck Jonathan.

Finally Oyo State government and Ibadan South-West Local Government can set the ball rolling by immediately changing former Liberty Road to Obafemi Awolowo Stadium Road to sidetrack the evil machination of the wolf in politics. Long live Nigeria. –Olusola Oyeniyi

As a mater of urgency, all the South-West governors should name one institution or any important public places in their state after the sage. History will not forget President Jonathan on the action he took by naming Liberty Stadium after Papa. For example, Ikeja GRA was the brain child of Chief Obafemi Awolowo, therefore, there is nothing bad in changin the GRA to Obafemi Awolowo Estate. May his soul continue to rest in perfect peace. –Fredrick Adesoji

I don’t see anything smart in renaming the Liberty Stadium after Awo. Awo built it, that was enough. Jonathan should rename the National Stadium in Abuja after Awolowo. Anything less will be uncivilised. –Olu Dada

Awolowo’s incredible exploits cannot be deminished by anyone. He is one man ahead of his time but never got the opportunity to lead Nigeria as a nation. However, he towered above his peers through the impact he made on the then Western Region and majority of Nigerians, by extention.

A man of records, not just in Nigeria, but the entire Africa. He deserved a better deal than the renaming of the old Liberty Stadium after him, but a first of its kind edifice would have been apt. –Jide Fashoyin
