OYO State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Taofeek Arapaja has congratulated the Falconets on their 1-0 victory over Colombia on Thursday, to qualify for the final of the FIFA Women's U-20 World Cup holding in Germany.

Speaking through his Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Kola Adegoke, Arapaja said he like many soccer-loving Nigerians feel proud about the exploits of the Falconets so far in the world championship.

He noted that the fall of the South Americans was as a result of teamwork and dedication on the part of the Falconets, just as he urged the players to continue with such zeal when they face the host, Germany in the final on Sunday.

"I'm impressed with the heart-warming peformance of the Falconets and I want them to put up such fighting spirit and commitment in the final against Germany, and I believe we have all it takes to win the Cup," Arapaja stated.

He charged the Falconets to be modest in celebrating their success so far, saying beating Germany in the final should be their ultimate target as no team is unbeatable.

He expressed confidence that the Falconets would prove bookmakers wrong on Sunday when they clash with Germany in the final. He appealed to Nigerians at home and abroad to support the Falconets with prayers in order to lift the Cup, and I believe the players would live up to the expectations of soccer-loving Nigerians.
