WHILE Wigan Atletic chairman Dave Whelan insists Victor Moses would not be sold, the Latics manager, Roberto Martinez is already planning for life after the Nigerian international.

Although the battle for the services of the player is still on as Chelsea is not relenting at getting him yet, Martinez is already lining up Chicago Fire's Marco Pappa as his replacement.

Moses is expected to sign for the Blues if the Stamford Bridge club is prepared to meet Wigan's £10million asking price.

The Blues have already had a £4million bid rejected for the 21-year-old but are expected to return with an improved offer.

Even though Wigan chairman Dave Whelan has warned potential suitors that he would not budge on his asking price. and has offered his prized asset a new long-term deal worth £20,000 per week, Moses has made it clear he does not want to extend his stay at the DW Stadium.

The youngster has set his heart on a move to Stamford Bridge, despite interest from Liverpool and Arsenal.

Meanwhile, if Wigan can secure a work permit, the Guatemalan forward would be the first player from his country to star in the Premier League.

Martinez hopes to secure Pappa on a pre-contract deal but Wigan\ is prepared to pay a fee to bring him to England before the end of the year.

The move will be complicated by Guatemala's low FIFA ranking however and the Latics will need to make an appeal, according to the Daily Mirror.
