NFF queries Amodu

FORMER Nigeria coach, Shuaibu Amodu, has been issued a query by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) following his continued absence from his post, officials have informed.
“What I can tell you is that the president (Sani Lulu) has directed that the secretariat fire Amodu a query after he failed to report to his duty post following the end of his compassionate leave,” a top official told MTNFootball.com.

“He is still in the employ of the NFF, but if he now wants to confront his employers, we will have to enlighten him about laid down rules as regards staying away from your work.”

Another official told MTNFootball.com: “The NFF have continued to pay Amodu his salaries even after he was drafted to the home-based Eagles and as such we are not in any breach of our contract with him.

“On the other hand, Amodu has severally breached his contract and that is why his petition to the Court of Sports Arbitration (CAS) is doomed and will fall flat.”

In February, Amodu was granted a compassionate leave soon after he was redeployed to the home-based Eagles from the country’s main team following a third-place finish at the Africa Cup of Nations in Angola.

He was expected to rejoin the team for the WAFU Nations Cup in Abeokuta, but failed to do so leaving his assistant, Daniel Amokachi, to lead the team.

Amodu has asked CAS to order the NFF re-instate him in the World Cup-bound Super Eagles.
