Allardyce wants Yakubu at West Ham
WEST Ham manager, Sam Allardyce is ready to raid former club Blackburn for Nigerian striker,Yakubu Aiyegbeni
Allardyce who bossed former Nigerian captain, Austin Jay Jay Okocha at Bolton Wanderers needs the experience of Yakubu to reinforce the character of West Ham for the English Premier League, (EPL).
Yakubu, who scored 18 goals last season in the EPL, has a £1million buy-out clause in his contract and wants to stay in the Premier League despite interest from China and the Middle East.
Also, Allardyce is interested in Mohammed Diame with Senegalese midfielder whom he hopes to talk this morning.
Former Wigan midfielder Diame, 24, is due to fly in for talks ahead of a weekend medical but is also expecting to talk to three other Premier League clubs.
Allardyce met Juventus officials in Italy on Tuesday to discuss potential loans for Milos Krasic and Eljero Elia after being priced out of moves for Wolves duo Matt Jarvis and Michael Kightly.
