FLYING Eagles Chief Coach, John Obuh, has clamoured for the relocation of the team from Abuja to the Southern part of the country.

Obuh, while speaking in Lagos, on arrival from the Cape Town International Challenge, noted that moving the team out of Abuja, would enhance effective planning that could assist him to get the desired results.

"The most important aspect of our preparation now is the camping site, which I have always insisted should be in the South. The reason is that we have more Premier league clubsides in the South. I mean teams that are very strong and we can play any of them in a friendly anytime. We need a lot of friendlies to really test the character of each of the players and what we can do as a team.

“We can play against Enyimba, face Sharks, Dolphins and so on. In fact, we can play friendlies with three teams in the South within a week without stress," he said.

The former Kwara United coach then begged his employers, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), to have confidence in him.

“I want them (NFF) to remain confident because one thing is giving somebody a job and another is for you to give him confidence that he can do it. I am one person who never lost confidence in myself no matter the circumstance. I don't think that using our performance in South Africa (Cape Town International Challenge) would be a good judgment. I knew quite well that nothing was going to come out of the tournament in Cape Town except the result we had but as I said earlier, we are still building this team," said the former Golden Eaglets handler.

Meanwhile, the reigning African champions would face the young Taifa Stars of Tanzania on July 28 in Dar es Salaam in a second round qualifier for next year's Africa Youth Championship (AYC).

Tanzania eliminated Sudan in the early round.
