GUINEA coach Michel Dussuyer has he is satisfied with the overall showing of the Syli National at this tournament.

"I'm satisfied with my team. We played well but could not qualify," he remarked.

"We will continue to work hard and improve and hope to qualify for the next tournament.

Guinea crashed out of the competition on Wednesday night after they could only manage a 1-1 draw with four-time winners Ghana in a final Group D match here.

"We will now look to the future. We have a young team with many of the players getting only their first experience at the Nations Cup in Gabon. We have learnt after playing at a high level competition like this.

"We played good football and showed we have qualities. Therefore we are looking forward to a very positive future."

Frenchman Dussuyer lashed out at South African referee Daniel Bennett for only penalising Guinea in the first half of the match against Ghana, while he also questioned the first booking Mamadou Bah received before he was eventually sent off.

Meanwhile, IBRAHIMA Traore the Guinea midfielder pointed to the 1-0 loss to Mali in their opening match of the Orange 2012 Africa Cup of Nations as the side's downfall.

Traore was speaking after Guinea played out a 1-1 draw with fellow West Africans and tournament co-favourites, Ghana in Franceville but the single point gained was not good enough to secure a quarter final berth.

Guinea which beat Botswana comprehensively needed to win and hope that Mali did not match their result but it wasn’t to be and the Syli Nationale missed out on a fourth successive quarter final place and Traore told Cafonline.com that it will come back stronger.

“We brought a young side to this tournament and we dominated in all three matches we played and were the better side but results have not gone our way. Ghana is a strong team but we dominated them and they failed to beat us, that tells you we have a quality side It’s unfortunate that we lost to Mali in our first match and that is where we derailed our objectives. It was really unfortunate that we lost”that match when we were by far the better side but that’s football. We will learn the lessons from our failing to make the quarter finals and come back stronger. I believe in this generation of players and as for me it has been a dream come true to play in the finals of a competition l watched on television as a child. I hope to play in more final,” said Traore
