Lagerback must carry players along to succeed –Taye Taiwo

NIGERIAN international, Taye Taiwo, believes Technical Adviser, Lars Lagerback, is fit for the Super Eagles’ job, but says he must feel the passion of the players in order to succeed.

Lagerback appointed last month to replace Shuaibu Amodu has already started work, but he is yet to meet the players.

"I don't know much about him, but it doesn't matter that much,” Taiwo said. "The important thing is that he feels the player’s passion and I think it will be shown that he is the right man for this task.

"The federation has chosen him, and they have good reasons to do it."

With three months to the World Cup, the Olympique Marseille says the Swede will face a tough task, but says he is looking forward to exciting times.

"It's an exciting venture with Lagerback, but it will also be a tough job. We haven't lot of time to get a good feeling in the team, but I'm sure that we will fix it."

Nigeria is grouped with Argentina, South Korea and Greece for the World Cup which starts on June 11 in South Africa.
