COACH of the Flamingoes, Peter Dedevbo has reiterated his team's commitment at securing total victory in all their group matches having won their first two matches.

Dedevbo said this in a post mach interview with FIFA.com after his team defeated the host, Trinidad and Tobago  2-1.

"We never take any match lightly, so we’ll be going all out to pick up another win against Chile in our final group game. What I’ll take away from tonight (Thursday) is securing our place in the next round, obviously, but also the strength of character shown by my players, who never gave up. I’m very satisfied with the result, of course. I thought we battled well throughout."

The Flamingoes made their way through to the quarter-finals of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup thanks to a winner four minutes from time by Loveth Ayila against the host in Marabella.

Buoyed by a rousing home atmosphere and some inspirational goalkeeping from Linfah Jones, the locals appeared set to hang on for a crucial against-the-odds point until Ayila’s late intervention.

The victory, combined with a 3-2 opening win against 2008 champion,Korea DPR, sees the Africans assured of their passage, and needing just a point from their final match against Chile to guarantee top spot in the group. The late goal means T&T must defeat the Koreans in the final group encounter to avoid elimination.
