COACH of the Flamingoes, Peter Dedevbo has said that the target of the team remains how to lift the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup after the demolition of the defending champions, Korea DPR on Sunday.

Speaking ahead of today's second group game against the host, Trinidad and Tobago, Dedevbo said winning the trophy was not out of place.

"Korea is the toughest team in our group and judging the way things are in the team, the Cup is not far from us.

"If we play together as a team, nothing like distraction definitely we'll go far.

"They've started well and I see the team going far in the competition, I have experienced players who can give us victory and with God on our side, we'll come home with the trophy. They will do well," Dedevbo said on brilafm.

The Flamingoes are blessed with resilient players in Ngozi Okobi, Francisca Ordega and a host of others to give their counterparts from Trinidad and Tobago a run for their money.

Trinidad and Tobago equally had three points following its 2-0 win over Chile also on Sunday. just as the eventual winner of today's clash scheduled to hold at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella would be the first team to qualify for the quarter-final of the competition.
