Our parents are against our relationship
Dear Taiwo,
My name is Lateef, a student of Veterinary Medicine at ABU, Zaria. I am Ebira, my girlfriend stays in Lokoja, though she is from Ogun State.
We have been together for about three years. I love her so much and we have so many things in common, she also loves me.
The problem, however is that her parents told her that she cannot marry any man from Kwara State. I cannot do without her and I don’t think I can live without her in my life, we also cannot stop loving each other.
Please, what can I do?
Dear Lateef,
I will advise that you should be patient and give her parents some time. They have their reasons for saying their daughter cannot marry a man from Kwara. However, I believe these reasons whatever they are can be changed with prayers.
You did not state your age and that of your girlfriend. May be if you give them time and they see your seriousness and consistency, they could change their mind.
If you try all you could, and they still do not agree, I will advise that both of you should move on with your lives.
You are both young and have a very bright future ahead of you. It could be painful, but if her parents insist, you have no choice, but to leave her.
