The two fake members of the National Youth Service Corps who were arrested about a month ago at the temporary orientation camp in Paiko, Niger State,  have been sentenced to 24 months imprisonment by a Minna Chief Magistrate court.

Eniola Temidayo Oguneyungbo (male) and Chinyere Theresa Ugwu were apprehended by vigilant men of the State Directorate of Security Service while trying to go through registration formalities at the camp.

Eniola had claimed that he graduated from the Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, in Ogun State, while Chinyere said she was a product of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.

The duo pleaded guilty when the charge of forgery, impersonation and cheating contrary to section 79,364 and 324 of the penal code were read to them and Chief Magistrate Mohammed Tanko summarily tried and convicted them.

Tanko, however, said that the convicts reserved the right to appeal against the judgement within 30 days from the date of the judgement, adding that the court was lenient with them because they did not waste the time of the court.

Aside from this, the Chief Magistrate ordered that Abiodun Falana, who assisted Oguneyungbo to obtain the fake documents and Valentine and Sudy Onigbo who assisted Chinyere should be arrested and prosecuted for forgery.
