13 cultists, 2 kidnappers arrested in Delta
The Delta State Police Command has arrested 14 suspected cultists and two kidnappers in Warri axis of the state.
Reports from the area said two rival cult groups, Python and Dominion, were clashing at Agbasa in Warri last week when police detectives countered them and arrested the 14 persons.
Seven matchetes and two battle axes were recovered from them.
Also, luck ran out of a gang of kidnappers who demanded a ransom of N10 million from their victims, one Jeoffery Asanuge and three others at Aladja, on Monday.
The victims, according to the Nigerian Tribune investigation, were kept in a hideout at Okpaka village. However, following a joint combing of the area by police and vigilance group at Udu, the victims were rescued unhurt and two suspects nabbed.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Charles Muka, who confirmed the reports, said the cultists would appear in court while efforts were on to track down the fleeing members of the kidnapping squad.
