Jonathan’s presidential candidacy, beyond constitutional rights -GNSO
A coalition of the former Yar’Adua/Goodluck National Support Group (YGNSO), now Goodluck National Support Group (GNSO), has said that the candidacy of President Goodluck Jonathan goes beyond mere constitutional rights and any zoning arrangement.
Speaking with the Nigerian Tribune in Ibadan on Wednesday, the interim national secretary of the group, Mr. John Omoboriowo, in a reaction to the statement issued by the Northern Governor’s Forum (NGF) in Kaduna that President Goodluck Jonathan had the constitutional right to contest in the forthcoming 2011 presidential election, said “with the way President Jonathan has handled the mantle of leadership, right from the time the late President Umaru Yar’Adua was away on the sick bed, he has proved to be a leader of reputable character, loyal as well as patriotic, and has since concentrated on steering the ship of the country away from the precipice of socio-political and economic denigration.”
