The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), on Thursday, demanded apology from the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) for subjecting the nation to international embarrassment over its defence of the attendance of its national leader, Chief Bola Tinubu, at the national convention of the Democratic Party in the United States.

Chief Tinubu had, in a statement issued by his media aide, Mr Sunday Dare, denied paying $5,000 to secure invitation for the event, arguing that he was invited by a senior member of the party.

The party, in a release issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, stated that the matter explained itself in clear terms.

“The ACN tried to force its dish of lies down the throats of Nigerians on the imaginary international exposure and connection of its national leader. This attempt by the party to ingeniously tap from the credibility of an American political institution through a spurious claim backfired.

“The Democratic Party convention officials would have none of that and wasted no time in denying ACN and Bola Tinubu. The implication of this on the image of Nigeria and the pride of our good people is wantonly damaging.

“The matter needs no further explanation if not for the ACN’s deliberate persistence on misinforming the nation,” the release said.

Must you shove yourself on established systems for relevance? Who is deceiving who? We all knew the running battle with Fashola after you left office for personal gains and you now think you are a popular figure for Nigeria? Who said? Look, Fashola has done better and may be better accepted on moral grounds to lead ACN. But come to think of it, your talks with end time politicians cannot do you any good and you need to reach out to Nigeria-i mean Nigeria to be relevant. Thats all.

PDP should stop dissipating energy on issues that do not concern them and of no relevance to governance. Tinubu is an individual who has the right of association and movement. What should be the priority of PDP is how to move this nation forward and let the citizenry feel and enjoy the benefits of good governance. I know the party is bereft of ideas and jealous of ACN achievement especially the roles Tinubu played in wrestling the Southwest from the jaws of the sharks. That was just the tip of the iceberg. Come 2015, more states will slip off PDP, no doubt.

ademanu, I sincerely sympathize with you.sincerely speaking I tried to understand what you seem to be saying here by reading through what you left here several times, but I still dont get it. First, omoba should just learn to stick to his own opinion, not critizising for the sake of it. Readers, I believe, would understand what point Ademanu2012 was trying to make; it is not compulsory for you in particular to understand.

Now, the issue of Asiwaju, trying to acquire a scandalous fame from America beggars believe! What everybody is saying about this, bothers on integrity of a man who, if grated the opportunity, would like to lead Nigeria and Nigerians, sooner. Why is it that our so-called leaders always want to lie their ways through everything: election rigging, acquiring fake and bogus credentials, financial malpractices etc. Any wonder then, why Nigeria is on its kneels, begging for the righteous ones to transform her?!
