Kogi ACN accuses former gov of fomenting trouble - IGP vows to reposition Nigeria Police

A former governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, has been accused of being responsible for the problems confronting the state by the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).
Reacting to the allegation, Governor Idris Wada denied the claims, saying that he was fully in control of the state’s affairs.
The Kogi State chairman of the ACN, Alhaji Haddi Ametuo, made the allegation, on Monday, while speaking with newsmen, alleging that the former governor was still meddling in the affairs of the state.
Governor Wada, in his reaction to the allegation, said he was fully in charge of the affairs of the state in its entirety, adding that the people were already feeling the positive impacts of his administration.
According to the governor, his administration welcomes constructive criticism that were issue-based, noting that people must not engage in baseless criticisms for the sake of it.
According to Ametuo, the former governor was responsible for underdevelopment in the state.
He added that Alhaji Idris wasted the state’s funds in the last nine years, and instead of allowing the people to choose their governor, he forced governor Idris Wada on them, who he said, executed most of the contracts of that administration.
“Governor Wada is one of the contractors that handled some of the contracts which were not executed in the state. The Eika Itakpe road was awarded to governor Wada. He has awarded some road contracts in the last three months but nothing is happening there now, so he is just like Alhaji Idris,” he said.
According to the ACN chairman, the former governor was still dictating to Governor Wada, as shown in his cabinet constitution and other appointments.
He added that the problems in the central axis of the state was caused by PDP politicians, who were fighting for the control of the party in the area, calling on the people to leave the PDP and join the ACN for development in the state.
