Four suspected kidnappers of Justice Marcel Okoh of the Warri judiciary, Delta State, have been reportedly gunned down by the police.

They met their waterloo in Benin-City, Edo State, during a gun battle between them and policemen last week.

Justice Okoh was kidnapped a forthnight ago at Oria-Abraka area of Delta State and was dropped off in the same area after spending over a week in their custody before they proceeded to Asaba to abduct one Mr Benson Ojoto.

Confirming the death of the kidnappers on Sunday, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) Mr Charles Muka, said the police trailed the criminals to Benin after they had kidnapped a businessman in Asaba last week.

According to Muka, the five-man gang had trailed Ojoto, the state director of SEEFOR to his residence at Ezenei road, Asaba, at about 7.30p.m. and abducted him in his official car, a Hilux van with a registration number DT14AA18.

The victim, however, reportedly escaped while the gang made away with the vehicle.

Following a tip, men of the “Operation Storm” squad trailed the hoodlums to Benin where four of them were shot dead, while the last escaped with bullet wounds.

The Hilux van, one AK50, four life ammunition, one locally made pistol, two cartridges, one millitary jacket, two cars (Volvo and Toyota) were also recovered from the gang.

Muka said efforts were on to get the fleeing kidnapper, appealing to members of the public to always give useful information to the police.

This was a good efforts.But what we are saying is that when these kidnappers are arrested and as well ,as their armed robbers counterpart , the Police should always endeavor to establish their Bank Accounts , Properties and other investments for confiscation .What does not belong to you, you cannot pass it to others.This is one of the reasons why these vices continue to spread.After court judgements they need to make them poor.The Police should be thorough in their Investigations .

Good effort, every one would say, especially with the sequence of naration. But did the police PPRO also report on Olugbega Osukporu, who the police claimed died in police cell in GRA Benin City recently whose corpse can't be found? How did the police kill the four men, were they eating ,drinking, sleeping. Nigeria police should understand that Nigerians know who they are at war with! You cannot be the police and the Judge at the same time. Police just killing people at will? The PPRO did not mention who these boys killed in their socalled kidnappings!
