Oyo govt reiterates commitment to improving economic activities

THE Oyo State government has reiterated its commitment to changing its environment for better and improving the economic activities of the state, just as it said that it would make the best use of the opportunity available to harness its human and material resources.

This was the submission of the state Commissioner for Trade, Investment and Cooperatives, Mr Kazeem Adedeji, recently, when delegates of Nigeria-USA Chambers of Commerce paid him a visit on how to collaborate with the state government on the transformation of the health care delivery system and the introduction of American business in the state.

The commissioner urged the delegation to associate itself with the various business centres in the state and most importantly, the health care centres, saying they should explore avenues of bringing investors into the state so as to improve its economic base.

While assuring the delegation that the state government would leave no stone unturned at providing enabling environment to encourage business investors and make business thrive, he said that the government had keen interest in agro-allied businesses, as industrialisation was a key factor for the survival of a nation.

Earlier in his address, the leader of the delegation, who doubled as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Nigeria — USA Chambers of Commerce, Mr Niyi Kareem, said the delegation was in the state to explore areas of introducing American business into the state and how to encourage such business in the Nigerian market.

He averred the Nigeria — USA Chambers of Commerce had equally identified viable development projects that were fundable.
