Why there is poor governance - Obi

ANAMBRA State governor, Peter Obi, has charged the people of the state to take full ownership of the process of governance.

He was speaking at a stakeholders’ consultative meeting on state’s “Application for 2012 MDGS Conditional Grant Scheme,” at J. JUMAC Hotels, Awka, on Thursday..

The governor noted that the system failed in the past because the people did not assume proper responsibility in governance and explained that his administration had continued to carry everybody along and had opened the door for public involvement and input in decision making.

Governor Obi said regular interaction afforded people the opportunity to understand and appreciate government policies and programmes.

The DFID team leader and national programme manager of the agency, Dr Joe Abba, said the state had remained consistent in championing the pace in the implementation of the DFID programmes, which he noted, was a reflection of good governance entrenched by Governor Obi’s administration.
