Ondo guber election: Biometric registration not political —HOS

The Ondo State head of service, Mr Ajose Kudehinbu on Thursday said the workers of the state are supporting the second term bid of Governor Olusegun Mimiko because of the unprecedented welfare programmes they are benefitting under the administration.

Apart from this, he said the biometric registration conducted for the workers was to ascertain the actual number of government workers in the state and not for any political reason.

Mr Kudehinbu, who was addressing the newsmen at the opening of the 2012 Civil Service week, said the workers were constitutionally empowered to join any association or group that could serve their interest.

He said, “We are supporting the government because of what the present administration has done for workers, what this government has done is unprecedented in the history of the state.

He said many policies were designed to encourage the workers and also increase their level of productivity, the civil servants in the state had never had it so good, many welfare packages were put in place which the workers are enjoying.

“Apart from this, the workers have not flouted the constitution of Nigeria by supporting any government or political party, Section 40 of the 1999 constitution gives the workers the right to associate and belong to any group that will serve their interest,” he added.
