Osun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has threatened to drag the state governor, Mr Rauf Aregbesola, before anti- corruption agencies for withholding monthly allocations of local governments.

The party, in a statement issued by its chairman, Alhaji Gani Ola Oluwa, said it was giving Aregbesola one week to release all monies due to the local governments in the state or have a date with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

It disclosed that it was scandalous to note that some local governments in the state received as low as N600,000 last month from Governor Aregbesola as monthly allocation from the federation account, even as the real amounts due to them had been released by the Federal Government.

The party challenged Aregbesola to publish the total amount of money he had released to the local governments in the last one year as their statutory allocations.

The PDP noted the palpable tension and lack of development in all the local governments following the decision of Aregbesola over several months now to deny the councils of their legitimate funds.

Must the PDP threat before reporting Aregbesola to anti-graft agencies if they found him wanting ?
These are the types of news The Tribune is happy to report. they are happy to report anything that is against their arch-enemies; the trio of Ayo Salami, Tinubu and his ACN.
Shame on The Nigerian Tribune. If care is not taken this paper would go the way The Concord went into oblivion.

I dont expect the Management of The Nigeria Tribune to display my comments because they concern them.
One thing is clear, conscience is an open wound.
When Awo was alive he never ran Tribune the way it is run today.

Mr Babatunde Ayeni, thanks for you frank comments about tribune, no news about Aregbesola, no news for tribune, no news about Tinubu, no news for ttribune, no news about Ayo salami, no news for tribune,and no news about ACN, no news for tribune. no matter how small any news concerning all the above named, tribune must make it a bold headline and one way or the other its is affecting the acceptability of the paper in the market. there is no permanent enemy and no permanent friends in politics. the earlier the board and editor of tribune understand this the better. i am ardent buyer and reader of the paper before, but i have since stop buying it because they are the official spoke voice of Oyinlola, PDP, opposition against ACN from anywhere in Nigeria and Oni.
