Pandemonium as students uncover bomb at FCE, Kano
WHAT would have been another major disaster was averted in Kano, when a time bomb planted at Block 400 of the Federal College of Education (FCE), Kano, was uncovered before it was detonated.
A source, who preferred anonymity, said immediately the purported bomb was uncovered at the campus, there was pandemonium in the institution, as students scampered for safety.
The pandemonium caused many students and lecturers to rush out of lecture rooms, to avoid the looming danger.
According to the state police command, in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mohammed Dutse, a good Samaritan uncovered the Improvised Explosive Device (IED) at the institution.
According to him, mmediately the suspected bomb was uncovered, the school authorities informed the police, while the anti-bomb detecting team moved into the scene of the incident.
The statement said the IED was then moved to a safer place, where it was difused without causing any havoc or injury.
The command commended members of the public for helping the security operatives.
