Policeman goes berserk, shoots 2 colleagues in Adamawa
A policeman at the Michika divisional headquarters in Adamawa State was, on Tuesday, shot dead after shooting two of his colleagues who are now receiving treatment in the hospital, police spokesman, Muhammed Ibrahim, said.
An eyewitness had told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Michika that the incident occurred around 7.00 a.m on Tuesday, when the policeman, identified as Abba Gana, opened fire on his colleagues.
Confirming the incident to NAN, Ibrahim said an inspector and a constable were shot in the incident.
He said the policeman, who resisted arrest, had been shot dead, with the assistance of men of the Adamawa special anti- robbery patrol, “Operation Tsaro.”
Ibrahim also confirmed the attack by suspected gunmen on Mugulvu police outpost in Mubi South Local Government Area of the state on Monday.
He said the men, who attacked the outpost with explosives, were repelled by the police, who succeeded in killing one of them.
NAN recalled that four months ago, a policeman at the police divisional headquarters in Gombi Local Government Area of the state also went berserk, shooting three of his colleagues to death before killing himself.
