The Oyo State branch of the Association of Local Governments (ALGON) led other donors in investing into the state’s Security Trust Fund with donations valued at N420 million.

At the launch of the state Security Trust Fund in Ibadan on Thursday, the association expressed its readiness to work with the Ajimobi-led administration to make the state more virile and transformed.

Some of the items donated by the association included 66 patrol vans valued at N6 million each and equipped with security gadgets worth millions of naira. The association made another N20 million cash donation, adding up to N420 million.”

Other donors at the event were the business mogul, Oba Otudeko, who chaired the occasion and Senator Bola Tinubu, who donated N25 million each, while the Aare Musulumi of Yoruba land, Alhaji Azeez Arisekola-Alao, donated N10 million to the fund.

About N300 million cash donations were raised at the launch, out of which the FirstBank donated N50 million as first installment to the fund and the Enterprise Bank also donated the same amount to show its commitment to the fund.

Also, the Chairman, Coscharis Group, Mr Cosmas Maduka, donated N40 million and expressed confidence in the ability of Governor Ajimobi to manage the funds excellently, adding that, security is an issue all responsible citizens must take seriously in the 21st century.

Speaking at the event, the state governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi said, “security is sine qua non for good governance. It is a key component of government,” he said.
