AT least, one person has been reported dead in Ishi Ozalla community, in Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State, when angry natives clashed with some Fulani herdsmen in the area, over alleged destruction of farm crops.

Reports from the area, on Wednesday, also said two cows belonging to the Fulanis were killed during the feud, as the youth alleged that the Fulani herdsmen also raped some women in the area.

The source added that disagreement between the two parties led to a fight that subsequently claimed  the lives of the  Fulani herdsman and two cows.

It was gathered that some natives sustained injuries, a development that heightened tension in the community before a combined team of soldiers and policemen were drafted to the place.  

Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr Ebere Amaraizu, said the swift deployment of security operatives in the area prevented the escalation of the dispute, adding that both parties were summoned by the state Commissioner of Police, where a successful dialogue was held.  

Amaraizu said the security operatives had been stationed in the community to maintain peace and order, so that both parties could go about their normal businesses without molestation.

Everywhere the Fulani Nomads go, there is always crisis, be it in Plateau, Benue, Nassarawa, Oyo and now Enugu. I think Government should encourage ranches rather that roaming & roving Fulani all over the landscape.

Tribune! What a partial and lopsided report? One person reported dead, as fulani clash with natives. You deliberately twisted the headline and story to be unfavorable to the fulanis. Because it is the fulani that was killed, you simply said one person reported dead! he was found dead or someone killed him? Not important, right? Yet you are so shameless to state that the fulani raped women! Which one is more serious and important to be mentioned? Rape or murder? Moreover, is there any evidence that the fulani actually raped the women? Rape is never among the typical crimes committed by fulanis, especially in a society where women are so easy and cheap to get, once the money is right. Thats the typical nigerian press for you. Partiality in news presentation. If it were the fulani that killed the natives, oh, it would have been a different headline - Fulani herdsmen killed native ... over his land! Also 2 cows were killed. You can keep on distorting your news, God will pass His judgement on you in His own way, one day.
