THE Registrar of Joint Admissions Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Dibu Ojerinde, has said that the board will commence the implementation of E-test for its examination from next year.

The registrar, who spoke when he paid a courtesy call on the Benue State governor, Dr Gabriel Suswam on Monday, said that the introduction of E-test would go a long way in curbing examination malpractices.

He said that the new E-test is a computer based method that would allow students with no knowledge of computer to use handset for the examination, adding that the new method, which would be put into practice next year, would not be made compulsory for all the candidates.

According to him, ‘what we are going to do is to put the new method to practice as from next year while there is option for candidates to go manual (using pencils and examination sheets) but in the next three years, it will be mandatory for all candidates sitting for JAMB examination to use the new technology.”

“We did a survey and about 76 per cent respondents approved e-testing. So, starting from next year, we will commence putting it into practice until three years time, when we will fully implement it. So whoever prefers manual next year and in two years time, will be allowed,” he said.

If jamb are to use Etest fully in the next 3 year that means that mr.OJERINDE want to develop Nigeria before then.

This is a great idea. The questions are ''Are we ready for it?'' Have we factored PHCN into planning,considering the population of students to be involved, Have we got adequate e-testing centres with suveillance cameras? Do we have people trained that will not compromise? These and many questions need to be answered.
