Oshiomhole’s election, another milestone —Gov Ahmed

KWARA State governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, has described the election of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) candidate in the Edo State governorship poll, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, as another milestone in the collective efforts to strengthen democratic culture in the country.

In a congratulatory message issued in Ilorin by his Chief Press Secretary, Alhaji Abdulwahaab Oba, on Sunday, Governor Ahmed said it was heart warming that despite the anxieties which preceeded it, the election had been said to be largely peaceful.

“This was an indication of the salient fact that we can get any national venture right if we show the required commitment and resolve,” he said.

The governor also commended President Good-luck Jonathan for the deployment of security personnel for the maintenance of peace in Edo State during the build-up to the election.

He sid this was in line with his pledge that the Federal Government would stop at nothing in ensuring that there was peace in the state.

Governor Ahmed also commended the political class in Edo State for the display of maturity during the election, which he said, should be emulated by others.
