My government has changed Ondo State —Mimiko •To receive NANS Gov of the Year award

THE Ondo State governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, said his administration has been able to change the face of towns and cities in the state within 36 months, under its Urban Renewal Programme.
The governor also maintained that his government would ensure that every urban community was touched to make life better for the city dwellers.
Mimiko made the submission in Akure, on Tuesday, while speaking at the launch of the state Urban Renewal Strategies initiated by his administration.
He said his government adopted a pragmatic approach in dealing with the urban development issues in the state, with the setting up of institutional and policy frameworks, which he submitted had now put in place series of strategies and methologies to achieve the policy objectives.
Meanwhile, the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has nominated the governor, as the governor of the year in its 2012 Nigerias Outstanding Leadership award.
Dr Mimiko is also being recognised for what the event organisers described as “ his initiatives and genuine interest in the education sector.”
The award presentation has been scheduled for Sheraton Hotel Abuja, tomorrow by 7.00 p.m.

Should the local government be a federating unit in the Nigerian nation?
My cocerns will centre on too much noise for little. All these projects done by Our governor should be re-assessed, who did these contacts? where were the money from?how much money spent on these contracts?. Mega schools with poor teaching standard is zero. mother and child with no qualitative staff is worrisome. how many teachers or nurses have been retrained by the government for the last 10 years. what Oga is building are structures not people to maintaing them. They were all avenues to enmass wealth for for the contractors and cronnies. My Governor could only be the best governor in Nigeria. He failed to conduct a simple election for Local authourity for 36 months aand he was illegally spending their money. There are all the same PDP/ LABOUR OR OTHRES.
My advice to NANS - Chanell your resources to fight for free education as a right , redistribution of wealth, equal oppourtunities, fair justice and reorganize your selves for the new demanding revolution. Read more about Middle eastern political process.. Please abstain from politics and lets judge Mimiko after his 8 years ruling . Am not optimistic.
