Police parade rapist, robbers in Oyo, Ondo
OYO State police command, on Tuesday, paraded three suspected robbers, including one who specialises in raping his victims after robbing them of their belongings.
The state deputy commissioner of police, Clement Adoda, gave the names of the suspect as Adewale Ogunbiyi (28), Saheed Idris (23) and Saheed Abdullahi.
He told journalists that Abdullahi was arrested by the officers of the command, after he had successfully disposessed residents of two different houses at Isale-Alfa area of Ibadan of their valuables.
Adoda added that Saheed, after robbing the women, attempted to rape one of the girls, who is a policewoman.
Also in Ondo, the police arrested five suspected robbers that had been terrorising the state.
The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Adeniran Aremu, said the arrested suspected robbers were Kazeem Kolawole, Audu Rabiu, Kalu Ben, Nesta Ucheghara and Efe Best.
He said the robbers were arrested by men of the command at different locations within and outside the state, adding that ammunition belonging to officers that were killed during robbery operations were recovered from some of the suspects.
The police image maker said Kazeem was arrested in Akure and Rabiu in Ehinme, Kogi State, adding that three other suspects, who resided in Lagos, were arrested by the command while acting on a tip-off.
