The Speaker, House of Representatives, Honourable Dimeji Bankole, has attributed incessant ethno-religious crises in Plateau State and other places in the country to the non-implementation of the past reports of the Commission of Inquiries set up to probe the crises.

Bankole, who stated this when he led other members of the House on a courtesy call on Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State, on Tuesday, expressed worries that with frequent crises in the state, nobody had ever being punished to served as deterrent to others.

“ It is a surprise that with frequent crises in the state and the wanton destruction of lives and properties coupled with many reports of Commission of Inquiries, nobody has been punished to serve as deterrent to other” he said

According to him, if reports of the Commission of Inquiries were  not implemented, such unfortunate incident would continue to occur, adding that nobody outside the state could proffer solution to the problems on ground except the people of Plateau State.

The Speaker who assured that House of Representatives would set up Truth and Reconciliation Committee as part of the its contribution to end the carnage in the state, enjoined the people irrespective of creed and political affiliation to cooperate with Governor Jang towards peace building process in the state.
