Indigenes of Anambra State in various parts of the world have charged Governor Peter Obi to use the opportunity of his second term of office to open new frontiers in the development of the state.

The Anambra State Assembly (ASA World) and Igbo World Assembly (IWA), while addressing a press conference in Awka, on Monday, said it was time for the governor to give priority attention to projects that would “make Anambra State to reclaim the driver’s position in the polity of Nigeria.”

President of ASA in the United States of America, Chief Nwachukwu Anakwenze, who addressed journalists on behalf of others, said the projects expected in the second tenure included “the establishment of an international airport, the conduct of local government election, the provision of reliable energy in the state and the provision of security in Anambra State.”

They also charged the governor to ensure that the private sector was “encouraged to participate in the development of the state,” adding that “an enabling environment should be created for investors to participate in the development of the state in all sectors of development.”

ASA World said it was time other states and the Federal Government emulated the “transparency and accountability in governance displayed by Mr. Peter Obi’s government in the last four years,” while also charging the other citizens of the state to “join in the quest to make Anambra State the best place to live.”
