Five illegal Cameroonian immigrants have been nabbed by the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) for allegedly operating illegal clinics in churches and other unregistered premises in Port Harcourt.

The arrested persons were identified as Mr. Cyril Monye, Margaret Onguene, Mr. Henry Eki Bsong, Awana Marc, Tedio Mana and Nyong Virgile.

In a press statement released on Thursday, Deputy Director of NAFDAC and Head of South-South Zone, Mrs. Lilian Duru, said the five illegal immigrants were also found to be administering unregistered drugs to members of the public.

Duru disclosed that the drugs being given to patients were made in China, labelled in Chinese languages and without NAFDAC registration numbers.

She said the agency recovered drugs and injections found in two Ghana-must-go bags, two diagnostic computers, sum of N354,000 and six mobile phones, from the Cameroonians.

According to Duru, the Cameroonians had operated clinics at Saint Peter’s Anglican Church at 50B, Hospital Road and Redeemed Christian Church of God, Ndoki Housing Estate, Borokiri, Port Harcourt, where they attend to unsuspecting members of the public.
