LAGOS State government, on Thursday, denied report that it has terminated the construction of the ongoing works at the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Works and Infrastructure, Mr Ganiyu Johnson, in a statement, denied the publication, saying that the project could not have been terminated because of its socio-economic importance.

Johnson assured the people of the state that the project was on course, adding that the construction company, Messrs Julius Berger Nig. Plc, has promised to deliver the project within the agreed time frame.

“It is also heartwarming to report that substantial progress has been recorded on the newly constructed bridge at Mile 2, which is at 70 per cent completion, while the service lane from Orile to Alaba is almost completed and will be put to use within the next few days,” Johnson said.

He assured Lagosisans that the Governor Babatunde Fashola-led administration was committed to fulfilling its electoral promises to the people of the state.

“We have done it before and we will continue to deliver first class infrastructural facilities to the good people of Lagos State, because our work is our bond,” he said.
