The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Commercial Agriculture Credit Scheme (CACS) funds now stands at N129.26 billion.

This follows the disbursement of N70.737 billion for 68 projects as of  July this year through the promoters, which included some state governments.

According to a statement from the apex bank, the breakdown showed that under the second tranche, seven state governments — Adamawa, Bauchi, Kogi, Nassarawa, Ondo, Zamfara and Niger —accessed N1 billion each for lending to co-operative farmers and unions in their various states.

While Adamawa State accessed the funds through Zenith Bank Plc and Niger State through Union Bank, the remaining five states were funded through United Bank for Africa (UBA).

A further breakdown showed that GTBank received N4.831 billion for disbursement to seven projects; Fidelity Bank Plc got N0.50 billion for one project; First Bank received N4.71 billion for disbursement to 11 projects; Skye Bank got N7.60 billion for disbursement to four projects; UBA received N38.455 billion for disbursement to 35 projects, including five state governments and Zenith Bank got N6.34 billion for four projects, including one state government.

Also, Union Bank received N1.90 billion for disbursement with respect to two projects, including one state government. Oceanic Bank received N2.0 billion for disbursement to one project; Access Bank received N0.906 billion for disbursement to one project and Unity Bank got N3.5 billion for disbursement to two projects.
