Speaker of House of Representatives, Honourable Dimeji Bankole, on Wednesday, said the legislative arm  will consider boundary adjustment, alongside state creation, in the ongoing process of constitution amendment.

He made this known during the presentation of a petition on boundary adjustment in respect of 33 Orile–Oko Egba villages, said to have been wrongly classified as Remo North Local Government Area of Ogun State.

He promised to look into the petition, as, according to him, the  House was prepared to ensure equity, fairness and justice to all parties in boundary adjustment based on cultural affinity, among other factors.

The Osile of Oke-Ona, Egba, Oba Adedapo Tejuosho, who presented the petition, said the people of the village were, hitherto, part of Egba division and now wished to identify with their kith and kin in Egbaland.

He laid emphasis on boundary adjustment in favour of the 33 villages, adding that “we are all Egba people and not Ijebu.”

The monach said the agitation for the people to join their relations dated back to 1948, during the reign of Oba Ademola and later Oba Oyebade Lipeade in 1972.

He said now that the issue of state creation was next in  the agenda of the National Assembly, the petition should be considered in the interest of justice and fair play.
