The Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Attahiru Jega, has pledged improved service delivery by the commission under his leadership.

Speaking during the formal inauguration of the commission’s Servicom unit, the chairman described the event as a crucial plank in the unfolding process to guarantee free, fair and credible elections in 2011.

“We in the Independent National Electoral Commission need improved service delivery, improved functionality, improved efficiency – all of which are necessary requirements for our key goal, which is ensuring free, fair and credible elections in this country.” he said.

Professor Jega assured further that the commission would move swiftly to make the newly inaugurated Servicom Unit an “important organ for bringing about efficiency and effectiveness in our own organization.”
