Prohibited forms of marriage
“And do not marry pagan women until they believe (in Allah alone). Indeed a believing female slave (of Allah) is better than a pagan, even though she (the pagan woman) might appeal to you. And do not marry pagan men until they believe (become muslims). Indeed a believing male slave (of Allah) is better than a pagan, even though he (the pagan man) might appeal to you. Those (Mushriks) invite (you) to the Fire, whereas Allah invites to Al-Jannah and to forgiveness by His permission”. Al-Baqarah: 221
Marriage in Islam is not an unguided phenomenon whereby a Muslim male or female is left to practise according to his or her own whims and caprices. In the first being the dog –type neither is it the Billy and the she-goat model. Islam specifically guides to what is rational and intellectually appealing in establishing our homes.
To start with, Islam forbids marrying an idol worshipper no matter how beautiful, rich or highly placed in the society. Allah (SWT) says, an ordinary slave (male/female) under the tutelage of her master (but a muslim) is better than a non-believer who possess all other worldly-Muslims give priority today. It is very unfortunate that many young muslim ladies have fallen unto the traps of non-believing men in their quest for a loving husband.
Speaking, Allah desires eternal joy for us as muslims by making forbidden unto us marriage to all categories of disbelievers. It should be noted that every non-muslim is considered a Mushrik (idolaters) whether Jews or Christians if they worship any other deity besides Allah (like those who worship Uzayr or Jesus) and hold other wrong beliefs about Allah. A man is not to be lured into marrying non-believing ladies merely because they expose their privacy to the public illicitly (as done by prostitutes)
.Beauty academic qualification, parental background and other social status are all secondary to faith is selecting a spouse as either discussed on this page. Even though Allah makes an exception to the above rule by permitting muslim men to marry Jewish and Christians women, the conditions attached to this are that those women must be “chaste”, meaning that they are not promiscuous and have not previously had illegitimate sexual intercourse with men. Above that is the fact that the so called Jewish and Christians women or ladies must be monotheists not polytheists-meaning that they must believe in oneness of Allah and not in Trinity. My candid advice is that muslim brothers should cast off their gaze off every non-believing woman because of the danger of inherent.
Another degree of prohibition is that which Allah (SWT) also categorically stated as follows; “And do not marry the women whom your father had married except what has already passed (before revelation). Indeed, that was a shameful and hateful act (to Allah), and an evil way. Also prohibited unto you (for marriage) are your mothers, daughters, sisters, paternal aunts, maternal aunts, brother’s daughters, sister’s daughters, foster mothers who breast-fed you, foster’s sisters, wives’ mothers, step-daughters under your custody and born of your wives with whom you have had sexual intercourse-but if you have not had sexual intercourse with them, then there is no sin upon (if you marry them), then the wives of your sons who are your own offsprings, and that you simultaneously take two sisters into wedlock expect that has already passed. Indeed Allah is Forgiving, Merciful. And (also) prohibited to you are all married women (except those captives that your right hand possesses”. Q4: 23-24.
From the above Allah (SWT) stated those women whose marriage and permanently forbidden unto a man were stated. Seven out of the above-mentioned are prohibited because of blood relationship with a man and these include;
•His mothers (including his grandmothers both maternal and paternal); His daughter (and grand-daughters); His paternal aunts; His maternal aunts; His sisters (both full and half); His brothers’ (both full and half) daughter and granddaughters; His sister’s (both full and half) daughter and granddaughters
While all types of woman were prohibited based on marital relationship.
