There is a name called Awo. A name that can never fade in the history of Yorubaland and Nigeria in general. A name that the generation yet unborn will still hear of. A name a typical Yoruba man will be proud of anytime anyday.
A name with the history of first in everything in Nigeria. A name one will always be happy to hear. The name of a man who made Yoruba a peculiar ethnic group in Nigeria.
A name you will always want to be associated with. A name that always ring bell. A name you remembered not because of wealth amassed, but because of the legacies left behind. Before anyone can call himself a Christian, he or she must have Christ in behaviour and attitude.
Likewise anyone wants to potray himself as an Awoist, such person must believe in what Awo believed and stood for.
Many of our people pretend to be Awoists whereas they are not. They only honour Awo with their mouths and not in their deeds. Though they proclaim to be an Awoists and they relate very well with Awolowo family, but they are not, in all ramifications.
If anyone wishes to potray himself as an Awoist, he must have the following attributes: He must not be selfish and he must not be wicked.
He must believe in freedom for all. He must believe in selfless service. He must not believe in do or die politics, and he must believe in liberating the people.
He must not in any way exploit the people he serves, and he must believe in good gorvernance. A true Awoist must also believe in service to humanity.
These are the attributes of Awo, the Great, and his followers must also imbibe these traits.

Whoever that is writing this has missed the whole point or just like many of them knows very well what he is chatting (*BS)...
A brief check on the history will shed a good light on the mind-set. No surprise to read that a 'War Criminal' (like Awo) should be revered as 'holy saint' after his death. After all Hitler whom the man copied verbatim even further is still being worshipped around many countries by some like minds as their 'saviour'.
Yoruba people need to wake up, because the next looming battle will be their battle against themselves and every other else, a no way out, today, their supposed 'leaders' despicable acts of hypocrisy and treachery is reverberating that even their former allies in genocide (Islamic terrorists), no longer trust them a dim, the So-called South-South, know them well now, or i sit the Easterner (Biafrans), they are what they made themselves (Enemy in friend's cloth).
