I wish to draw the attention of the Oyo State government, particularly the governor, Adebayo Alao-Akala to the plight of residents of Eleyele, a constituent of the Ibadan North-West Local Government of the state, who are always at the mercy of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) authorities, over the epileptic supply of power to the area.

I am a partaker of the hardship being borne by many residents of Eleyele, which encompasses Ologuneru, or new Eleyele as some people would prefer to call  it, as a result of inconsistent power supply, due to worn out power transformer installed in the area years ago.

The situation has become so bad that residents of the area are made to undergo weeks without electricity, particularly when there is light shower of rain accompanied by wind. This leaves many people wondering if the rainy season is an obstacle to power generation in the present twentieth century.

But the truth of the matter is that the transformer currently serving the area is too obsolete to cope with power supply to both residents of old and new Eleyele (Ologuneru), thus necessitating urgent steps by concerned authorities to increase the number of transformers serving the areas for stability of power.

Eleyele residents are active supporters of the Alao-Akala-led government, apart from being citizens of Nigeria who pay their taxes and PHCN bills as at when due, and therefore, should feel the positive impact of the government.
